Do I have a version 3?

It is very easy to tell if you have a version 3, flip your PS2 over and count the number of screws on the bottom, they will be under little plastic/rubber covers.

Version 3

If you find 10 screws then it's a version 3, and the only chip that is available for your PS2 is the F-14 modchip.

If you find 8 screws then it could be either a version 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

Version 4/5/6/7/8

Do I have a version 4?

The easiest way to establish if you have one of these is to take the expansion bay cover out of the back and look at it:

Expansion Bays

Usually if your expansion bay cover has metal in it, like the one at the top then its a version 4. If its made entirely of plastic, like the one on the bottom, then its either a version 5 / 6 / 7 / 8

Another way to check is to have a look inside the expansion bay, if you find a screw like the one arrowed then you do not have a version 4.
